Situated just East of the Don River, Leslieville first began as a small village surrounding the Toronto Nurseries in the 1850s. The neighbourhood then became home to light industry manufacturers, before seeing a great influx of homeowners and young families once the area began to grow and gentrify in 2000. Since these humble beginnings, Leslieville has emerged as one of Toronto’s newest and hippest neighbourhoods; even catching the eye of the New York Times who declared it “the new Queen Street West.”
With serene tree-lined streets and quaint inhabitants, Leslieville offers the comfort of living in a small village within a big city. There are plenty of exciting cafe and brunch options attracting Torontonians from all across the city. With stores featuring everything from vintage fashion and furniture to trendy design, and plenty of parks and outdoor space, Leslieville has something for everybody.
